Experience Lima 2025: The Contest That Celebrates the Best of Coffee in Lima Returns

After a two-year hiatus, the Peruvian Chamber of Coffee and Cocoa proudly announces the return of Experience Lima, the contest that has reshaped Lima’s coffee scene since its debut in 2018.

Recognized as the premier platform for honoring the best coffee shops in the city, Experience returns in 2025 with a strengthened proposal, more inclusivity, and exciting new features.

A Platform to Showcase Peruvian Coffee Culture

Experience Lima was born with the goal of promoting the consumption of specialty coffee, strengthening national coffee identity, and celebrating those who make a full coffee experience possible: baristas, roasters, entrepreneurs, producers, and the entire urban coffee ecosystem.

In this new edition, the contest aims not only to reward cup quality but also to recognize innovation, customer service, gastronomic offerings, and the cultural impact of cafés in their communities.

Past Winners Who Inspire a New Generation

Over its past editions, Experience Lima has awarded coffee shops that are now benchmarks for quality, creativity, and dedication to coffee culture. Since its launch in 2018, the contest has involved more than 100 cafés across 10 districts of Lima, including emerging venues in the northern and southern outskirts—highlighting its inclusive and decentralized nature.

In its first year, Milimétrica Espresso Bar and Ana Avellana set the standard in the categories of specialty coffee and complementary offerings, respectively. In 2019, establishments like MamaQuilla, Caleta Dolsa, and Café Aicasa were recognized for their consistency, innovation, and holistic approach. More recently, in 2022, names like Ciclos Café, Alanya Repostería, and Típica Café stood out for their modern concepts, community engagement, and strong commitment to excellence in every cup.

Típica Café, 2022 winners, were present at the official launch of Expocafé Perú 2025.

A Diverse and Highly Qualified Jury

Experience 2025 will feature a multidisciplinary jury composed of renowned professionals from the worlds of coffee, gastronomy, communications, and hospitality. The panel will include:

  • Anggela Sara, CEO of IMSA, professional cupper and the first Peruvian judge at a World Coffee Championship

  • Norka Peralta, journalist and founder of Cafelab.pe

They will be joined by hospitality and culinary management faculty from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC): Rafael Parra, Juan José Vasques, and Fiorella Orozco.

This panel will evaluate the participating proposals from a holistic perspective, combining technical quality, value proposition, user experience, and cultural relevance.
