Peruvian Chamber of Coffee and Cocoa participated in the XX National Contest of Cocoa Quality 2026
The competition brought together producers and organizations from the country's leading cocoa-producing regions, assessing the physical and sensory quality of their samples to showcase the excellence and diversity of Peruvian cocoa
Antonio Arbe, General Manager of the Peruvian Chamber of Coffee and Cacao (CPCC), participated in the awards ceremony of the 20th National Quality Cocoa Competition 2026, an event that recognizes the efforts of producers and organizations distinguished by the excellence of their cocoa beans while contributing to the positioning of Peruvian cocoa in both domestic and international markets.
This year's competition featured more than 140 samples from the country's leading cocoa-producing regions. Entries were evaluated according to rigorous physical and sensory standards across three categories: Quality Cocoa, Fine Flavor Quality Cocoa, and Women's Origin Quality Cocoa.

Category I – Quality Cocoa

3rd Place (Tie):

Category II – Fine Flavor Quality Cocoa

2nd Place: Piura Granos de Origen SAC (San Juan de Bigote, Morropón, Piura)
3rd Place: Genaro Calderón Carillo – District Municipality of Echarati (Echarati, La Convención, Cusco)
4th Place (Tie):

Category III – Women's Origin Quality Cocoa
1st Place: Susy Consuelo Cardoza Romero – Cooperativa Agraria APPROCAP Ltda. (San Juan de Bigote, Morropón, Piura)
2nd Place: Maura Justina Taipe Inga – AGROCANAYRE Cocoa Producers Association (Canayre, Huanta, Ayacucho)
3rd Place: Erlita Dias Flores – Central Agricultural Cooperative of Producers of Amazonas (Cajaruro, Utcubamba, Amazonas)
4th Place: Marivel Yepes Parodi (Pichari, La Convención, Cusco)
5th Place: Margot Calderón Echegaray – District Municipality of Echarati (Echarati, La Convención, Cusco)
The results highlight the outstanding performance of producers and organizations from Cusco, Piura, Ayacucho, Junín, and Amazonas, which secured the top positions across the competition. This reflects both the geographical diversity of Peru's cocoa production and the exceptional quality of its distinct sensory profiles.
CPCC's Commitment to the Cocoa Sector
The 20th National Quality Cocoa Competition 2026 was organized through the collaborative efforts of the National Organizing Committee, comprising the Peruvian Cocoa Producers Association (APPCACAO), the Peruvian Chamber of Coffee and Cacao (CPCC), the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), and the National Institute for Quality (INACAL), with the support of the National Network of Women Cocoa Producers, ETIQUABLE, Agromercado, and ALCACAO.
Through this institutional collaboration, the competition contributes to strengthening the quality, innovation, and competitiveness of Peru's cocoa value chain.
